Built in the 18th century, Château Tour Saint Pierre has been in the Goudineau family since 1928, a lineage best known for Jacques Goudineau, mayor of Saint-Émilion from 1988 to 2007.
In 2022, the estate was restored to its former glory under the vision of Denis Chazarain and Pierre-Yves Rigaux, who sought to make it a destination of choice for true connoisseurs of fine wine.
Saint-Émilion, a cradle of viticulture since Gallo-Roman times, boasts a terroir like no other. Its development and prestige date back to 1199, when King John Lackland of England (Jean sans Terre) established the Jurade de Saint-Émilion. In exchange for royal privileges and protection, the commune secured an exclusive trade relationship with England, catalyzing the vineyard expansion that defines the region today.
Against this historic backdrop, Château Tour Saint Pierre, nestled on the northeastern slopes of the appellation, cultivates its 13.19 hectares of diverse terroirs to craft wines that honor the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru designation.
On the palate, the wine opens with a clean, precise attack, revealing a silky, velvety texture. Firm yet refined tannins frame the vibrant primary aromas of fresh red fruit, evolving into tertiary notes of spices and cocoa. A long, elegant finish brings forth a final burst of fruit, leaving a lasting impression of finesse and complexity.
